Trả lời phỏng vấn với The Mirror, cựu danh thủ Roy Keane không đồng ý với ý kiến từ trung vệ Harry Maguire về chiến thắng của Manchester United trước Coventry City.
Đêm qua, Man United đã giành tấm vé còn lại vào chơi trận chung kết FA Cup mùa này sau chiến thắng nghẹt thở trên loạt luân lưu trước đội bóng hạng dưới Coventry.
Quỷ Đỏ từng có thời điểm vươn lên dẫn trước 3-0 nhưng Coventry đã chơi quật khởi trong 25 phút từ phút 71 đến 90+5 để kéo trận đấu vào thời gian đá hiệp phụ cũng như loạt đấu súng cân não.
Trải qua trận đấu vô cùng vất vả trước 1 đối thủ bị đánh giá thấp hơn nhưng trung vệ Maguire đã dành nhiều lời khen cho các đồng đội sau trận.
“Chúng tôi đã biết cách thể hiện bản lĩnh đúng lúc, Man United khởi đầu trận đấu tốt nhưng chúng tôi phải nhận 3 bàn thua đen đủi”, Maguire nói trên ITV. “Coventry đã có những phút thi đấu không tệ nhưng toàn đội đã cho thấy đẳng cấp của 1 đội bóng lớn”.
Trái với sự hài lòng nơi Maguire, cựu danh thủ Keane đã bày tỏ thái độ tức giận với màn trình diễn của đoàn quân Erik ten Hag trong buổi phỏng vấn trên The Mirror.
“Maguire nói rằng Man United đã thể hiện được bản lĩnh nhưng tôi không thấy điều tích cực gì từ đội bóng này”, Keane nói. “Tôi thực sự không ấn tượng với tập thể này, họ có quá nhiều thói quen xấu, họ không xứng đáng giành chiến thắng hôm nay. Man United vẫn còn nhiều lỗ hổng trong lối chơi. Ở thời gian thi đấu hiệp phụ, Coventry chơi như 1 đội bóng Premier League còn Man United giống 1 tập thể tới từ Championship”.
Sau chiến thắng trước Coventry, Man United sẽ trở lại Premier League để tiếp đón Sheffield United trên sân nhà Old Trafford ở trận đấu thuộc khuôn khổ vòng 35 Premier League diễn ra vào rạng sáng thứ 5 tới.
